01

Get the Tomato Gem from the Giant Spider

Defeat the Giant Spider above the spider-prison elevator to get the Tomato Gem: climb a pillar or raised ledge, jump onto its back and attack with your melee weapon. To reach the arena, repair the prison mechanisms, raise the counterweights and activate the three cell switches that power the elevator.

02

Prepare for the prison route

Have the Prison Key ready before tackling the prison route. You can collect it from the chest in the room beyond the Iron Key door, where skeletons guard it. If you have already collected it, check your stored supplies before retracing that route.

Bring a torch for the webs and keep it in your right hand when clearing them. A Hammer handles rusty metal fences elsewhere along your approach. Keep these tools accessible so you can deal with an obstruction without repeatedly returning to camp.

Carry Iron Rods and Chains for the prison repairs, along with a melee weapon for the boss. Eat before setting out; cooked meals can improve your stats for the journey. Leave supplies you do not expect to use at camp so your inventory stays manageable.

03

Repair the levers and open the Big Door

  1. Burn blocking webs with the torch held in your right hand to clear the passages through the prison.
  2. Add an Iron Rod to the broken door lever marked “Fix Lever” to make the lever usable.
  3. Pull the repaired door lever to open the door it controls and continue through the prison.
  4. Repair the Mechanism with Chains so it can work with the counterweights. Its repair prompt reads “Bring Chains to Fix it”.
  5. Repair the counterweight levers with an Iron Rod apiece so each lever can raise its Counter Weight.
  6. Pull a repaired counterweight lever to raise the Counter Weight connected to it.
  7. Pull the other counterweight lever to raise the remaining Counter Weight. With both raised and the Mechanism repaired, the Big Door opens.
  8. Pass through the open Big Door promptly to continue the route; it closes again after a while.
04

If the counterweights do not open the door

Check the Mechanism as well as the levers if the Big Door stays shut. Raising the counterweights is only part of the solution: the Mechanism also needs its Chains repair. Once that repair is complete, operate the counterweight levers again and be ready to move through the doorway.

05

Power the elevator and take the high ground

  1. Activate the three cell switches that supply power to the prison elevator.
  2. Ride the powered elevator upward to reach the Giant Spider's area above the prison.
  3. Climb the pillar near the arena entrance, or another raised ledge, to get above the Giant Spider before attempting a close attack.
06

Attack the Giant Spider from above

Use the elevated terrain to approach the Spider's back and avoid standing directly in front of its attacks. Look for an opening as its movement leaves its back exposed, then commit to the jump. Take your time lining up the landing instead of rushing into melee from the front.

  1. Jump from the pillar or raised ledge onto the Giant Spider's back to establish your melee position.
  2. Strike the Spider's back with your melee weapon while you have a clear opportunity to hit it.
  3. Reposition toward elevated ground if you lose your footing or end up in front of the Spider, setting up another approach to its back.
  4. Repeat the back attacks until the Giant Spider falls, then collect the Tomato Gem it drops.
07

Keep the Tomato Gem for the Sanctuary Door

Keep the Tomato Gem for the Sanctuary Door. It belongs with the Bean Gem, Corn Gem and Guarana Gem on the four statues beside that door. Store it at camp until you are ready to bring the gems together.

The Tomato Gem is kept on death, so dying after collecting it does not mean you need to earn another drop. Backpacks also stay with the player after death, while items that are not retained go into a death pack. If the gem becomes misplaced, the host can recover lost treasures through the Catalogue, including treasures in another player's inventory.

Follow the sewer and Guarana Gem walkthrough for the route after obtaining the Tomato Gem.
