Find the Pickaxe in the Lower Spider Prison
Find the Pickaxe near the prison entrance, at the bottom of the prison-side stairs beneath the elevated skeleton archer. It breaks yellow Goo Piles, opening passages and giving you materials including Clay.
Prepare for the Prison Approach
Have the Small Key and Prison Key ready for the locked approach into the prison-side passages. The route includes a Small Key found at the end of the sloping cave and a plank bridge toward the spider prison. Bring a lit Torch and hold it in your right hand when burning webs that block your path.
Keep an Iron Rod available for a broken prison lever. The levers marked "Fix Lever" each need an Iron Rod before they can be pulled, and one operates a door. Read the repair prompt carefully: the prison Mechanism asks "Bring Chains to Fix it", so that interaction needs Chains.
Reach the Pickup Beneath the Archers
- Follow the Small Key route across the plank bridge to reach the locked approach toward the spider prison.
- Use the Prison Key to enter the prison-side passages, giving you access to the route down toward the pickup.
- Burn any blocking spider webs with a lit Torch in your right hand to clear the passage.
- Descend the prison-side stairs to reach the lower area beneath the entrance where the Pickaxe lies.
- Search behind the lower-prison door beneath the elevated skeleton archers to locate the Pickaxe.

Collect the Pickaxe so you can break yellow Goo Piles and gather Clay.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Revisit the Yellow Goo in the Sewers
Back in the sewers, the yellow goo on the wall beyond the barred passage hides another door. Lower the water before dropping down to reach it. Break that goo with the Pickaxe to reveal the doorway and continue into the next section.
Get a Replacement at the Workbench
If the original pickup is unavailable, check the Workbench for a replacement. Patch 1.0.51.0 added the Pickaxe recipe there. Open its recipe entry and gather the materials shown in your game.
Build a Workbench through the Crafting menu if you need one at camp. Its recipe uses 3 Wood Planks, 2 Iron Rods and 1 Leather. Once it is built, use the Pickaxe entry to check the tool's own material requirements.
