Find Explosives along the goblin-cave railroad

Find Explosives along the railroad route in the goblin caves, then use them to destroy the large grey Rock Piles blocking passages. Yellow Goo Piles need the Pickaxe instead; the Pickaxe does not damage Rock Piles.

02

Start at the Boat and Fuse Box

The route starts at the Boat and Fuse Box in the deeper sewers. If the Boat's Mechanism still needs repairing, bring Chains and an Iron Rod to fix it. You will use the Fuse Box to open the door at the far end of the boat ride before entering the goblin caves.

03

Follow the cave route to the Explosives pickup

  1. Activate the top switch at the Fuse Box by the Boat to open the door at the far end of the boat route.
  2. Ride the Boat to the far end, where the newly opened door leads into the goblin caves.
  3. Take the left path upward through the caves to approach the small entrance in the wall.
  4. Enter the first small opening on your left to reach the railroad track.
  5. Follow the railroad track and look for the Explosives pickup along the route.
  6. Search the nearby side paths around the lower pit and the straighter rail section if you have not found the Explosives.
  7. Pick up an Explosive yourself so it has been in your inventory, satisfying the item prerequisite for crafting replacements.
04

Choose the right tool for the obstacle

Look at the obstruction before using an Explosive. The large grey rocks along the cave route are the target; yellow goo, brown roots and rusty bars have their own tools. Carry the tools you need for your intended route so a different obstruction does not stop the trip.

Blast the rocks and open the hub shortcut

  1. Use Explosives on the large grey rocks blocking the railroad route to clear the passage forward.
  2. Follow the cleared passage beyond the railroad tracks until you reach a ladder.
  3. Continue forward past the ladder into the path containing the black bean bush.
  4. Follow that path to the large door at the end, where a nearby plank provides a way across.
  5. Position the nearby plank as a bridge to reach the large door.
  6. Open the large door to connect this route with the main hub and gain a shortcut back to camp.
06

Craft more Explosives at the Workbench

Find an Explosive before trying to craft your supply. Its recipe requires you to have had the item itself, so gathering the ingredients alone does not replace the cave pickup. Once that prerequisite is met, return to the Workbench to make more for other blocked routes.

  1. Bring 1 Azurea Mushroom and 1 Coal to the Workbench to supply the Explosive recipe.
  2. Craft the Explosive recipe to receive 2 Explosives from that batch.
07

Return to the fountain and Cuica Rock Piles

The fountain area gives you another reason to keep Explosives available. Removing its central rocks lets you return to the fountain lever and restore the lights. Activating the lever also causes corn to grow nearby.

  1. Use Explosives to remove the rocks in the center of the fountain area.
  2. Return to the lever beside the fountain at the start of the area.
  3. Turn the fountain lever to switch on the lights and make corn grow nearby.

A Rock Pile in the blue-mushroom cave also covers the Cuica chest. Bring the Hammer and Pickaxe alongside your Explosives if you approach through the sewers, because that route includes metal bars and yellow goo. Save the Explosives for the grey rocks covering the chest.

See the Cuica entry in the treasure guide for that separate detour.
