01

Start With the Recovery Route for Your Problem

Copy your remaining save files before updating and trying the affected world again; Deep Dish Dungeon keeps a last-good-save backup that loads if the save cannot be read or the world fails to load. For missing items, the host can recover unique treasures through the Catalogue, while lost packs may be at camp, spawn or the water's surface.

02

Protect Your Remaining Save Before Loading

  1. Copy the remaining Windows Steam save files from AppData/LocalLow/Behold Studios/Deep Dish Dungeon/SavedGames into a separate folder. Keep this copy unchanged so you preserve the files you had before attempting recovery.
  2. Install the latest available game update before testing recovery. Patch 1.0.51.0 includes fixes for item-position save failures and lost packs, alongside the save protections introduced by Patch 1.0.50.0.
  3. Try loading the affected existing world after updating. Its last-good-save backup loads automatically if the main save cannot be read or the world fails to load, giving you an in-game recovery route before manual file changes.

Keep the affected world and your separate copy while troubleshooting. Avoid deleting files, replacing them with another save or repeatedly overwriting the remaining save during experiments. If you cannot select the affected world at all, preserve what remains and move to the support report below.

03

Recover a Missing Treasure Through the Catalogue

  1. Open the Catalogue as the host of the affected world. Listed key items and unique treasures have a retrieval route here, so start with this screen when a missing treasure blocks your progress.
  2. Recover the missing treasure through its Catalogue entry. The host can retrieve it wherever it ended up, including another player's inventory, and bring it directly back into their hands.

Tell your group which treasure you are reclaiming before using recovery. This helps everyone keep track of an item someone may still be carrying. Once it is back, check that you have the item you need before returning to the blocked puzzle.

04

Find a Missing Backpack or Death Pack

  1. Inspect your Backpack after respawning. Backpacks stay on the player after death, while items that are not retained go into a larger death pack, so check what you still have before retracing your route.
  2. Search camp or spawn if a Backpack or death pack fell below the world. Packs that end up below the world return to these locations.
  3. Inspect the water's surface after a water-related death. Death packs float on the surface and follow the ground level, so look there when the pack is missing from the place where you died.
  4. Retrace your route to the last solid ground after dying in mid-air. That is where the death pack is placed, rather than at the airborne position where the death happened.
  5. Check the original drop location for a Backpack dropped during co-op. The hotfix corrects dropped Backpacks appearing out of place for clients and prevents carried Backpacks from falling through the world.

Which Patch Fixes Apply to Your Symptoms

Patch 1.0.50.0 introduced the last-good-world backup and temporary-file saving on PC to protect against crashes during saving. It also fixed loading into a world with 0 HP, no controls and an empty inventory after many players had joined. The game no longer saves while a world is loading or before the character is ready.

Patch 1.0.51.0 added position validation when saving and loading, with invalid player positions returning you to camp. It fixed saves failing because an item had an incorrect world position. The same hotfix supplies the below-world pack recovery, floating death packs and last-solid-ground placement used in the checks above.

Patch 1.0.47.0 addressed items being lost when added to partial stacks. It also addressed Backpack contents swapping or duplicating after switching Backpacks. Deconstruction refunds falling through the floor were fixed in that patch too.

06

Replace a Missing Craftable Tool

For a missing Hammer, Pickaxe or Axe, check the Workbench for a replacement after your storage checks. These tools can be crafted there, and Patch 1.0.51.0 specifically added the Pickaxe recipe to the Workbench. Use the recipe displayed in your updated game when gathering replacement materials.

07

If Your World or Item Is Still Missing

Preserve the remaining files and contact Raw Fury support if the relevant recovery check does not resolve the loss. Keep your separate copy available while the case is investigated. Avoid further manual save changes while preparing the report.

Describe exactly what disappeared: the world, a unique treasure, a Backpack, a death pack or an item from storage. Include your platform, installed game version and what happened immediately before the problem. Note which recovery checks you tried and what each showed, so the report clearly explains the remaining issue.
